Hello. I'm Etain and I'm a photographer and writer.
As a photographer, I work mainly on collaborative public art projects, on participatory community workshops and as an exhibiting artist. I've recently completed an MFA in Fine Art, exploring techniques and ideas beyond the realm of work and enjoying the freedom to experiment and rekindle a love for the medium all over again.
I like to play with light and images using alternative techniques to push materials beyond their intended use. I also love working with people, particularly non-traditional audiences in workshops and classes.
As a writer, I’ve worked with major international publishers, national broadsheets, glossy magazines, travel agents, national tourism agencies and the third sector writing features and website content, as well as newsletters, B2C copy, brand partnership and direct marketing materials, and advertising copy.
I've done a lot of travel writing in my time and am convinced travel can be a force for good, although the way in which we travel requires fundamental change. Sustainability must be built into our plans so that local communities benefit and the environmental impact of what we do becomes a critical element of every booking.
