I've been teaching photography for many years to young children, adults, artists and as an introduction to art and storytelling for vulnerable and at-risk youth and adults.

I've worked in schools running participatory photography workshops for children from age four, with scouts groups, teenagers and the vulnerably housed and homeless, as well as in further education. I also run cyanotype (sunprinting) and zine-making workshops for groups and festivals.

Working with after-school clubs and youth groups, I help children to learn how to use their phones or digital cameras, tell their stories and learn how to take digital images.

Improve your smartphone photography

A one-off or multiple session workshop to help you improve your digital photography by learning how to get the most out of your smartphone by learning the basic concepts of lighting and composition, as well as the capabilities of your phone.

Learn how to use your DSLR

Confused by all those buttons and all that terminology? This session aims to take the mystery out of using a digital SLR and help you to move away from automatic settings and to start controlling aperture, shutter speed, composition, and lighting manually to take better photos.

Introduction to Photoshop

Six-week course covering Photoshop basics including tools and features, selection techniques, layers, type, retouching and resolution control.

Cyanotype (sunprinting)

Use the power of the sun and found materials to create beautiful blue-and-white images using a process first developed in 1842, and commonly used in the past for technical drawings which became known as ‘blueprints’. Suitable for all the family.

Zine making

Make your own zine using a single piece of paper, or opt for a more complex folding technique that allows for multiple pages to create a mini book. Lots of fun and suitable for all ages.

Natural mark making

Use natural materials to let loose and create abstract imagery that is likely to surprise and delight you. Paint with seed heads and twigs, feathers or flowers and find a freedom to express your ideas in ways you may not have previously imagined.
